Surf Travel Insurance has an exclusive arrangement with the underwriters to amend the PDS wording in relation to surfboards having cover.
This endorsement amends the SureSave Travel Insurance Combined Financial Services Guide and Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) effective 1st August 2019 (including any Supplementary PDS (SPDS) effective at time of purchase).
The policy is amended as follows:
1. Under "Restrictions on cover for specific types of luggage" on page 20 of the PDS, in paragraph (a)"Getting cover for sports and leisure equipment (including musical instruments)", the first sentence is amended to remove "surfboards" from the phrase "(including musical instruments, surfboards and bicycles)".
Therefore, standard cover (as defined on page 84) is now provided for surfboards at no additional premium, up to the standard item limit of $700 per item, and cover is on a depreciation basis.
2. Higher limits for surfboards can still be purchased under the New for Old Luggage Option, up to a maximum item limit of $4,000, by specifying the item and paying the additional premium quoted. Cover is then on a replacement cost basis, per the terms and conditions of this option.
3. Cover is still excluded for surfboards in use, as stated in the paragraph "The 'in use' rule" on page 20 of the PDS.
4. All other policy terms and conditions continue to apply.
