  • Snow Sports Option

    You will have to add the Snow Sports option if snowboarding and snow-skiing as it will cover you for injury, your equipment and reimburse you for unused lift passes. Plus, benefits may include on and off piste, back country and Heli skiing, equipment hire and liability cover.

  • Medical evacuation and repatriation

    This benefit covers the necessary transport and accommodation expenses for medical evacuation or repatriation that you undertake during your trip with the insurers prior consent. Based on reasonable recommendation of a medical practitioner appointed by them; including if you contract coronavirus during your trip. Plan limits vary from $500,000 with Budget Plans to unlimited expenses with Comprehensive Plans

  • Overseas medical expenses

    This benefit covers you for emergency medical, hospital and ambulance expenses arising from injury (including surfing), specified medical condition, or ‘automatically covered condition’, new illness (including coronavirus) or death. May include a sub-limit for illness or injury emergency travel expenses for a relative or friend.

  • Coronavirus travel costs

    This benefit may cover you for specific events related to coronavirus, including diagnosed with COVID-19 prior to departure, quarantined due to close contact prior to departure, medical expenses if diagnosed with COVID-19 during trip, required quarantine during trip, or a healthcare worker’s leave being cancelled, or you are being denied boarding due to your suspected infection with coronavirus. Limits vary up to $2,500.

  • Cancellation or Amendment costs

    This benefit provides cover if you must cancel the Journey due to circumstances outside your control. Insurers will not pay more for rearranging your journey than the cancellation costs, which would have been incurred had the journey been cancelled and the value of the unused portion of your prepaid travel or accommodation arrangements that are non-refundable and not recoverable in any other way.

  • Medical Evacuation and repatriation costs

    This benefit may cover you if you have to interrupt your trip after it has begun because you have suffered an illness or injury while you are on your trip and based on the reasonable recommendation of a medical practitioner who is appointed by the insurer, and you need to be evacuated or repatriated.

  • Additional Expenses

    This benefit covers you if during the Period of Insurance, you suffer a disabling injury, sickness or disease. They will pay the additional accommodation (usually room rate only) expenses and additional transport expenses, at the same fare class and accommodation standard as originally booked. Cover for visiting relative’s expenses if you are hospitalised overseas.

  • Travel delay

    This benefit provides cover if your pre-booked, prepaid transport is temporarily delayed during the journey usually more than 6 hours due to an unforeseeable circumstance outside your control. Benefits include additional accommodation and meals expenses you incur. Limits vary from nil to $2,000

  • Resumption of trip

    This benefit provides cover, usually if You are required to return home during the journey due to the sudden serious injury, hospitalisation, sickness, disease or death of a relative or possibly your business partner in Australia. There are usually limited terms and conditions associated with this benefit and requires travel over 20 days. Limits vary from nil to $3,000.

  • Rental vehicle insurance excess

    Rental Vehicle usually means a campervan/motorhome that does not exceed 6 tonnes, SUV, sedan, station wagon, hatchback, people mover, coupe, convertible, four-wheel drive or mini-bus rented from a licensed motor vehicle rental company or agency. Usually, it will be your responsibility to provide the final repair/loss report to substantiate your claim. Varied limits from nil to $10,000.

  • Luggage and personal effects

    This benefit provides cover for accidental loss, theft of or damage to your luggage and personal effects, up to the sub-limits and item limits less depreciation for age and wear. With automatic limits applying to any one item and set or pair of items, this benefit covers your personal items including surfboards and quivers. Varied limits from $500 to $1,200 per item and specified item limits from $3,000 up to $5,000 per item.

  • Snow Sports Option

    You will have to add the Snow Sports option if snowboarding and snow-skiing as it will cover you for injury, your equipment and reimburse you for unused lift passes. Plus, benefits may include on and off piste, back country and Heli skiing, equipment hire and liability cover.

  • Boat Charters Option

    Consider the Cruising option for surfing and fishing charters around Australia when at sea for more than 2 days. Some insurers include cruising cover for free, other an added extra. Plus, you can get cruise specific benefits such as cover for medical evacuation from the vessel, flight delay, pre-paid shore excursions and cabin confinement.
